For the past few weeks I’ve been testing Olaz’ newest edition, the Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. Olaz is the dutch name for the American brand name, Olay. Today I’ll give you a full honest review of this new product that is specially designed for young woman around the age of twenty-five to make the eyes appear brighter and more refreshed.
“The Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream instantly reduces the appearance of wrinkles, puffy eyes and dark circles. The 3-in-1 DeCircler, DeWrinkler & DePuffer contains Olaz’ color-correcting technology that acts as a touch of concealer that blends with all skin tones.”
I would describe the packaging of the Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream as sophisticated yet elegant.
The price of the Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream 15 ml is €24,99.
The formula contains peptides and vitamins. According to several studies, peptides applied on the skin would stimulate the production of collagen what reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Besides the peptides and vitamins, the eye cream should act as a concealer due to Olaz’ color-correcting technology.
The formula is very light and I think that this is the reason that the eye cream doesn’t really hydrates my skin. Although the eye cream has a really matte finish, it does reduces the appearance of fine lines under my eyes. My concealer also applies smoother and I noticed that it creases a lot less. So yes, I still need concealer despite Olaz’ color-correcting technology. I have Indian skin and happen to have really dark circles under my eyes. It doesn’t matter if I sleep in or drink tons of water, I always have them and so have my parents (and a lot of other family members). The color-correcting technology isn’t powerful enough to cover my dark circles and it didn’t seem to have any effect on me at all. I wasn’t surprised actually, cause the eye cream has a peachy color and I need a more orange color to correct my dark circles. I’m not sure if the Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream also reduces puffy eyes since I (luckily!) don’t have them.
The Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream doesn’t do much for me. I wouldn’t recommend the product for anyone that suffers from really dark undereye circles like I do. The color-correcting technology won’t be able to correct dark circles that look purple. So the product does not blend with all skin tones. Also, I’d rather prefer an eye cream that deeply nourishes but this formula is just very light and doesn’t hydrate my skin at all. Yet, I did notice a reduced visibility of fine lines under my eyes. So since the eyecream only reduces the appearance of fine lines and that’s about it, the price of the Olaz Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream is too high if you’d ask me.
|Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles||Color-correct technology doesn’t work for really dark circles|
|Make-up creases less||Doesn’t hydrate the skin|
